Friends since elementary school, Paul Simon and Art Garfunkel of Kew Gardens Hills, Queens, New York formed the duo Tom And Jerry during their junior year of high school. They first recorded in the late '50s, some eight years before hitting it big as Simon And Garfunkel.
The track 'Hey Schoolgirl' was a minor hit, selling 100.000 copies and reaching #49 on the Billboard charts. In its early days the duo was heavily influenced by the Everly Brothers as can be heard on these 20 tracks, recorded between 1958 and 1962.
Not just the roots of a legendary duo, these tracks offer some early high quality songs.
